Do I need a pregnancy test at Care Net Milwaukee if I already tested at home?

While at-home pregnancy tests can be accurate, Care Net Milwaukee offers free lab quality pregnancy testing in a confidential and supportive environment. Our tests are highly sensitive and administered by trained personnel so you know your results are accurate. This test will confirm your status and help you start the next steps. In order to receive a free ultrasound at Care Net MIlwaukee you will need a positive lab-quality pregnancy test.

If my at-home pregnancy tests are negative, can I still be pregnant?

Yes. At-home tests can vary in their sensitivity and give incorrect results based on the timing of the test. If you’re unsure, we offer free lab-quality tests to confirm or deny pregnancy.

Can Care Net Milwaukee confirm how far along I am?

Yes. We offer free verification ultrasounds to help determine how far along the pregnancy is, as well as viability. Once we know the gestational age of your pregnancy, we can talk to you about all of your pregnancy options.

Do I need an ultrasound before making a pregnancy decision?

Yes. An ultrasound offers essential information about gestational age and fetal viability which can guarantee you the most informed decision possible. Ultrasounds are not only legally required in Wisconsin if you are considering an abortion, but they are also the only way to consider if there is an ectopic pregnancy.

What do I need to do to get an abortion?

At Care Net, we offer information about abortion options so you can understand what is involved in the process, but we do not offer or refer for abortions. We also provide post abortion support if that is the path you choose.

How do I know if I qualify for a medication abortion?

Whether or not you qualify for a medication abortion depends on how far along you are and the information we gather from your free ultrasound. We do not provide or refer for medication abortion, but we are here to help with your understanding of potential side effects, costs, and risks you may face when taking the abortion pill.

How do Wisconsin abortion laws affect my options?

Wisconsin law requires you receive an ultrasound before any type of abortion to confirm gestational age of the pregnancy and fetal viability. Wisconsin abortion laws also restrict abortion after 21 weeks and 6 days. If you are under the age of 18 you must get permission from a legal guardian or seek judicial bypass.

Is an ultrasound required before taking the abortion pill?

Yes, Wisconsin law requires that all women have an ultrasound before taking the abortion pill.  Care Net Milwaukee provides this ultrasound for free.  Just contact or text us at 414-962-2212 to schedule an appointment.

How much does an abortion cost?

The cost of an abortion varies depending on insurance and the particular method. Care Net does not provide abortions or set pricing, but we can talk with you about the different types of procedures and general pricing information during your consultation.
